Between Islands: Portraits of the LGBT+ Cypriot Diaspora by Mihali Intzieya

  • The Cyprus High Commission 13 Saint James's Square London, England, SW1Y 4LB United Kingdom (map)

Celebrate the stories and spirit of queer Cypriots in the UK with Between Islands, an exhibition by artist and photographer Mihali Intzieyanni. Presented as part of Proud Voices II, a collaboration between the LGBTQ+ Cypriot Diaspora CIC and the Cultural Section of the Cyprus High Commission in London, this exhibition explores the themes of identity, resilience, and connection across the islands of Cyprus and the UK.

Through powerful portraits of notable queer individuals of Cypriot heritage, Intzieyanni captures the diversity and strength of a community that bridges cultures and builds new paths for expression and pride. Featured portraits include Alex Papadopoulos, Ali Orhan, Andreas Pavlou, APHRODITIOS, Dean Atta, Diana Georgiou, Eve Polycarpou, Florenza Deniz İncirli, Gabby Koumis, Martha Lewis, Sophia Vi, and Tahini Molasses. Each photograph is a celebration of their journey and a testament to the LGBTQ+ Cypriot diaspora.

Join us for the Private View on Wednesday, 18 December at 19:00, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet members of the community and the artist himself.

Admission is free and all are welcome to witness this remarkable collection. Don’t miss this chance to connect with and celebrate the vibrant voices of the queer Cypriot diaspora!
